Hoodie Bag
In Tibet, Ghana, Himalaya and many parts of the world, except the western world, burdens are carried on the head by a strap around the forehead. Ergonomics examined the carrying of burdens on the head and it appears to be a very effective way of carrying.
With this starting point Arent Jack and Ka-Lai Chan examined how the carrying of a burden can be translated in a product, which would be nice and accepted in the western world. During the design process they mostly looked how porters easily carrying heavy burdens with a strap around their forehead. In the western world heavy burdens are supported on the hips, like hikers. By combining these two views with the trendy sweater, hoodie bag is created. The hoodie bag is a sweater translated to a bag.
